Anchorage Digital Bank Launches Tokenized Uranium Custody Service
Anchorage Digital Bank, a federally licensed virtual asset bank in the United States, has launched custody services for assets based on the Tezos Layer 2 network 'Etherlink', including tokenized physical uranium. Institutional clients can custody RWA and stablecoins issued on Etherlink through Anchorage Digital Bank. The supported assets include 'xU3O8', a tokenized form of physical uranium, along with a total of seven types of assets including WXTZ, stXTZ, USDT, USDC, and WETH. Anchorage Digital can utilize its existing custody infrastructure, and the supported assets will be held in segregated custody accounts opened at federally licensed banks. Nathan McCulley, CEO of Anchorage Digital, explained that the lack of interest from institutions in tokenized RWA is not due to disinterest, but rather a shortage of custodial locations that meet risk management standards. This allows institutions to store tokenized uranium under the same control framework as their existing portfolios.
