Brent oil rises to $96.14, Wall Street continues its rebound
Wall Street indices continue to rise, driven by the appreciation of the Japanese yen and expectations of an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve (Fed) this month. The yield on Japanese government bonds fell, while the yen experienced its largest two-day rally. The Nikkei 225 index fell by 0.18%, the Kospi rose by 0.26%, the Hang Seng dropped by 0.39%, and the Shanghai stock exchange increased by 0.02%. Brent crude rose by 0.53% to $96.14 per barrel, and WTI crude advanced by 0.77% to $91.83. In Europe, the Euro Stoxx rose by 0.06%, the German DAX increased by 0.48%, and the French CAC fell by 0.08%. In New York, the S&P 500 rose by 0.41%, the Nasdaq Composite increased by 0.64%, and the Dow Jones moved up by 0.21%. Shares of Palantir, Principal Financial, and ServiceNow stood out with gains, while Campbell's, Hewlett Packard, and Broadcom showed the largest declines. The yields on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds fell to 4.757%. Attention is focused on the U.S. payroll report on Friday, following disappointing labor data from August. Private employment grew by only 38,000 jobs, below expectations, and announced job cuts increased to 52,881 in August.
