EU Develops Danube Corridor for Ukrainian Agro-Exports
The European Union plans to support Ukrainian agro-exporters due to disruptions in maritime logistics caused by Russian attacks. The Danube Corridor is seen as the most promising alternative to Black Sea transport. The European Commission is monitoring the situation in the Black Sea and the consequences of strikes on Ukrainian ports and infrastructure. The EU is assessing the impact of logistics disruptions on Ukrainian agriculture and global food security. In light of the deteriorating situation in the Black Sea, the European Commission is maintaining contacts with Ukrainian authorities and neighboring countries. To increase the capacity of alternative routes, the 'Solidarity Corridors' mechanism is planned to be used. The Danube Corridor stands out among available options as the most promising for transporting additional volumes of Ukrainian exports. The EU also supports initiatives to cease attacks in the Black Sea. At the beginning of 2026, the EU allocated 50 million euros to Ukraine for the restoration of critically important port infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks.
