Gemini Partners with Apex to Expand Its Crypto Predictive Markets to American Brokers
He who pays the piper calls the tune. It took Gemini five years to turn a simple idea into a product. This Monday, the platform founded by the Winklevoss brothers signed a letter of intent with Apex Fintech Solutions: Gemini Titan, its CFTC-regulated subsidiary, will become the exclusive execution venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex's broker network. Key points of this article: * Gemini Titan has signed a strategic agreement with Apex Fintech Solutions to become the exclusive execution venue for crypto event contracts. * Kalshi and Polymarket dominate the crypto prediction market with a combined valuation of $20 billion, while Gemini adopts a different approach focused on distribution through established brokers. Gemini Titan is taking control of distribution, not just the product. The mechanism is almost more interesting than the amount of the deal, which remains confidential. Brokers using Apex's Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) will be able to offer crypto event contracts without having to build their own technical connection to a regulated market. Gemini handles execution and clearing. Apex provides the brokerage network. Each stays in its lane, and that’s precisely what makes the agreement scalable. Gemini Titan obtained its designated market maker (DCM) license from the CFTC in December 2025. Another subsidiary, Gemini Olympus, secured a clearing organization license in April, allowing the group to manage clearing internally rather than relying on a third party. More than 225 million event contracts have already been traded on the platform, with approximately 27,000 cumulative traders. This volume remains modest compared to the industry giants. Kalshi and Polymarket, the competition worth $20 billion. Predictive markets have exploded in recent months: Kalshi and Polymarket are now worth a combined $20 billion, and their combined volumes have surpassed $150 billion. Kalshi is even negotiating a funding round that would nearly double its valuation to $40 billion. Gemini is thus entering a market already structured around two giants, with a different strategy: rather than building its own retail user base, the platform is betting on wholesale distribution through already established brokers. However, competition is not having an easy time on the regulatory side. Kalshi has recently been the subject of a U.S. Congressional investigation into potential insider trading, and the head of the CME has directly criticized the CFTC for its alleged laxity towards these platforms. By betting on a fully internalized clearing structure, Gemini is precisely trying to avoid this kind of gray area. A signal sent to traditional brokers, not just crypto traders. This alliance mainly says something about the direction the sector is taking: crypto predictive markets are no longer just looking to recruit bettors on dedicated apps; they want to infiltrate traditional brokerage circuits, where institutional money is already flowing. For Gemini, which has long lagged behind its rivals in this segment, the agreement with Apex feels less like a flashy move and more like a methodical catch-up, brick by brick.
