NVIDIA Invests $3.5 Billion in MediaTek Convertible Bonds
NVIDIA and MediaTek are deepening their collaboration by investing $3.5 billion to subscribe to MediaTek's convertible bonds, aiming to jointly build an AI edge-to-cloud computing platform. MediaTek will adopt the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion platform to help customers bring custom XPUs into rack-level AI factories connected by NVIDIA NVLink. The two companies will collaborate in three areas: First, in AI infrastructure, MediaTek will work with NVIDIA's NVLink Fusion ecosystem to develop customized AI infrastructure and design solutions integrated with NVIDIA's rack-level systems and AI factories; second, in local AI computing, both parties will continue to develop multiple generations of NVIDIA RTX Spark™ and DGX Spark™ PC chips, promoting consumer-grade PCs, AI development supercomputers, and enterprise-grade workstations, which will integrate NVIDIA GPUs with MediaTek SoCs; finally, in the automotive sector, MediaTek and NVIDIA will continue to develop AI-driven software-defined vehicle platforms.
