X Requires Over 500,000 Home Exposures for Paid Users
Social media platform X has revamped its content monetization system. To participate in the monetization program, users must secure over 500,000 home timeline exposures from verified users within the last 90 days. X is ending its previous 'Revenue Sharing Program' and introducing a new 'Original Content Rewards Program.' The existing program will stop accepting new applications from August 7, 2026, and revenue accrual for participants will end on September 7, 2026. To join the new program, users must have more than 500 verified followers, subscribe to X Premium service, and be at least 18 years old. The criteria for revenue calculation have also been specified, requiring that posts be displayed on the screen for at least 50% of the time, excluding artificial exposures. Content standards have been strengthened, recognizing only user-generated content as original content. Through the new program, X will directly reward original content creators and determine the payment amounts.
