Chinese Companies Lead in New Business Registrations in Ukraine
In the first seven months of 2026, Ukraine saw the establishment of 709 new companies with foreign ownership, which is 6% more than in the same period last year. Half of these companies are registered in Kyiv, with wholesale trade being the most popular sector. The number of companies owned by Chinese nationals has nearly tripled, reaching 114 businesses (16% of the total). Turkish citizens rank second with 98 companies (14%), a decrease of 6%. Citizens of the United States opened 62 companies (9%), Germany 44 (6%), and Azerbaijan 35 (5%). Half of the new companies are concentrated in Kyiv (360), followed by the Odesa region (110) and the Lviv region (78). Almost one in four new companies operates in wholesale trade (167 businesses, 24%). The highest charter capital among the new companies is held by "Agrotech Investment" - 400.04 million UAH, with a beneficiary from Italy.
