Microsoft Opens Data Center in India for $20.5 Billion
Microsoft has launched its largest data center in India, located in Hyderabad, becoming the company's fourth cloud region in the country. Initial clients include Adani Group and HDFC Bank. The investment amounts to approximately $20.5 billion, reinforcing Microsoft's status as a leading provider of cloud infrastructure in India. The company is targeting a market with over a billion internet users and a large pool of technical professionals. The Azure cloud division has shown double-digit revenue growth in India over the past two years. Microsoft also operates two data centers in partnership with telecom operator Jio. Overall, Microsoft has secured deals for data center leases exceeding $130 billion in response to the growing demand for artificial intelligence.
