Swiss Franc Stablecoin Sandbox Enters Testing Phase with Participation from SIX and TWINT
UBS has announced that the Swiss Franc stablecoin sandbox has entered its testing phase, with new participation from infrastructure operator SIX and payment company TWINT. The sandbox verifies specific use cases for the Swiss Franc stablecoin in a controlled digital environment, with protective mechanisms such as participant scope and amount limits. The testing is based on the Swiss Franc digital stablecoin CHFD, and the testing platform is operated by Swiss Stablecoin AG's subsidiary CHFD Infrastruktur AG. Existing participants include UBS, PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank, Vaudoise Bank, and Swiss Stablecoin AG. Officials stated that this is an experimental arrangement and does not constitute a decision for the future formal issuance of the Swiss Franc stablecoin.
