Gen Z ETF Share Reaches 25%, Binance Trading Frequency Low
The share of ETFs among Gen Z investors on Binance has reached 25%, with trading frequency and leverage usage lower than that of older generations. According to Binance Research, the net inflow share of ETFs for Gen Z in July increased to 21.9% from 18.5% in June. During the same period, the share of individual stocks decreased from 77% to 74.2%. Gen Z recorded an average of 13 transactions per month in traditional finance perpetual futures trading, which is lower than the 17 transactions of Millennials and 16.5 transactions of Generation X. Additionally, 22% of Gen Z have never placed a sell order from their direct stock accounts. Their buy-only accounts included Broadcom, Tesla, and Schwab U.S. Dividend ETFs. Notably, 88.2% of Gen Z had no activity in trading leveraged and inverse ETFs. Binance reported that the trading volume of traditional finance perpetual futures for ETFs in July exceeded $116 billion cumulatively from January to July 2026. In the Korean market, semiconductor ETFs and Korean index ETFs are actively traded, with the trading volume of Korean leveraged index ETF perpetual futures surpassing that of the underlying ETF.
